Local excursion, Nicosia and Lefkara

An opportunity to visit Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. First stop is the handicraft centre. Then we drive by the Venetian Walls, Famagusta gate and the statue of liberty to visit the Cathedral of St. John and its frescoes. After that you will have the opportunity to visit the Archaeological museum with its priceless collection of Cypriot Antiquities and art. Time is given to explore the shopping centre or enjoy lunch in the ‘Laiki Yitonia’ a recently restored 19th century quarter with tavernas and shops. Driving out along the "Green Line" which divides the city in two, we then continue to the picturesque village of Lefkara famous for its hand made lace and silverware.
